French Instruction Manual
Pistolet Automatique de 9mm Lüger Type P08, 1951
In 1950, the French Army printed out 5000 manuals for Mauser Parabellum (P08 and LP08)
to be mainly used by the Army Gunsmiths during the war in Indochina. Today they are very
hard to find and they are an interesting document to be associated with the Parabellum
made under Frech Control.
It summarizes the classification introduced for the pistol and all the components.
It is interesting to note that the cost of the P08 was 8000 old French Francs in January
1951. It is also interesting that the tons of Parabellum spare parts moved from Oberndorf
were priced not per item but per kilogram: 3500 old French Francs per kilo. The only priced
items are the spare magazines (140 old French Francs) because they were produced in
France, and the cleaning rod (53 old French Francs) and the maintenance kit (550 old
French Francs).
